Our 4 star Cévennes campsite is located at the start of many cycling circuits, which is partly why cycling enthusiasts love it so much! Bike trips and pumptrack tracks will be on the program of your vacations!
The Cevennes, a cyclist’s paradise
At only 3 km from Saint Jean du Gard, we have listed 150 laps starting from the campsite, with percentages from 5 to 12% on average. Some passes linking the Corniche des Cévennes exceed 17% for a few hundred meters. You will be able to link the passes of 6 to 25 km while discovering the Cevennes National Park.
The most prestigious being the ascent of the Mont Aigoual (stage of the 2020 tour), the highest point of the region with 1567 meters of altitude, the course varying from 100 to 160 km with a difference in altitude of 1546 m for the shorter version.
The possibilities of the route are infinite, and climbers will be able to discover numerous valleys crossed by winding roads that are not very frequented by motorists. A map and description of the main passes is available to customers at the bar: 150 circuits over 12031 km and 215 893m of vertical drop.
BICYCLE OUTINGS ORGANIZED AT THE CAMPSITE
There are many cyclists on the campsite, small groups form to ride each day, but the idea is to cycle as a family in the Cevennes.
We can also accommodate groups of cyclists in the off season, either in the gîtes or on camping pitches in tents, caravans or motor homes, Cedric can organize your outings and even accompany you.
Our campsite in the Gard offers with Cédric accompanied bike trips, 3 to 4 times a week in high season and one for children, always in the morning, to enjoy the region and the campsite the rest of the day!
It will make you discover superb panoramas, the water supply points at the various village fountains and the very varied landscapes of the Cevennes. We don’t have broom cars yet, everyone climbs at his own pace and the group takes a break at each summit to leave together, no time trial or stage winner.
Cedric will also be able to advise you on outings if you prefer to ride solo or with your family.
2 pumptracks within the campsite
Without leaving the campsite, enjoy an activity well known to bike lovers and especially to young bmx fans: pumptrack! In roller, skate, longboard, bmx, scooter, bike…, the idea is to move forward without pedaling, faster and faster, as you go around.
These 2 tracks prepared by professionals will surprise as many children as their parents! Because in addition to organizing the FISE of Montpellier, these riders, fans of board sports, have built us superb pumptracks accessible to any public, any generation, and this for the first time on a campsite! Take advantage of it by staying at Mas de la Cam in Saint Jean du Gard!
You will find a 65 m² track for the youngest children, with 3 curves and many small bumps. Ideal with a draisienne, or other wheeled machines…. And a 370 m² track, between the tennis court and the tyrolienne, with more relief, and 1,20 m bumps for jumps and transfers.
