Cevennes Park<\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

A visit to the C\u00e9vennes National Park is an opportunity to discover an exceptional natural, landscape <\/strong>and architectural heritage. The park is characterized by a remarkably preserved biodiversity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among its landscapes, we find rivers, massifs and gorges. The Cevennes Park is also distinguished by the fact that it welcomes permanent residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NATURE AND LANDSCAPES OF THE CEVENNES NATIONAL PARK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The C\u00e9vennes Park has been part of the Unesco “biosphere reserves” since 1985<\/strong>. In 2011, the UN organization recognized the Mediterranean agro-pastoral landscapes of the Causses and the Cevennes – and the know-how and traditions associated with them – as part of the world heritage of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park is a delight for nature lovers. Among its jewels are the Tarn and Jonte gorges. Hikers marvel at these fascinatingly beautiful landscapes<\/strong>. While some visitors enjoy nature on foot at the edge of the gorges, others explore it by kayak along the river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors can also discover the granite and limestone rocks<\/strong> of the granite massif of Mount Lozere, the highest point in the park. The Chaos of N\u00eemes-le-Vieux, appreciated for its picturesque and peaceful atmosphere, is also worth a visit. The same is true for the Armand cave, which shelters hundreds of stalagmites.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN THE CEVENNES PARK ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Not far from our campsite in the Cevennes<\/strong><\/a>, the park is a place suitable for many outdoor activities<\/strong>. One thinks in particular of hunting, fishing or gathering. It should be noted that these activities are at the same time considered as relevant tools for the monitoring and preservation of the natural environment<\/strong>, as long as their practice is in phase with the rules of environmental protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hiking is of course also part of the program. Whether you come with your family or with friends, you can discover all the riches of the park at your own pace, whether it be the valleys, the rivers or the gorges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Nature sports are also going well in the C\u00e9vennes National Park. This is particularly true of canyoning. The canyons and rivers of the Cevennes National Park are a delight for those who enjoy physical activities and strong sensations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Via Ferrata<\/strong> also attracts many visitors, who are tempted by an excursion to Florac for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C\u00e9vennes National Park also offers an annual program of activities<\/strong>: “Les Printani\u00e8res”, “Les Estivales” and “Les Automnales”. These activities are organized for adults and children<\/strong>, for locals and visitors alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C\u00e9vennes nature festival<\/strong> is appreciated for the richness and diversity of its programming. Among the activities that await the public, we find in particular the small hikes and the naturalist or storytelling walks, but also the know-how workshops, the exhibitions, the conferences, the evenings, and much more. These are all activities that are part of the discovery of a rich cultural and natural heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cultural activities are not left out. The Cevennes Park is home to various museums and historical sites. For example, in the castle of Florac, visitors can discover the Maison du Parc which offers documentation and permanent exhibitions. The C\u00e9venol museum in Le Vigan and the C\u00e9venol valleys museum in Saint-Jean-du-Gard are recommended addresses for those who wish to learn more about the history<\/strong>, art and culture of the area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
