Campsite Cévennes Bike

Mas de la Cam campsite in the Gard is located close to the starting point of many cycling routes. Situated just 3km from Saint-Jean-du-Gard, we have prepared a list of about one hundred routes starting from the campsite, averaging between 5 and 12%.

Cycling in the Gard and Cévennes

Some passes between the Corniche des Cévennes exceed 17% for a couple of hundred metres. Cycle over the chain of passes between 6km and 25km and discover the Cévennes national park. The most prestigious is Mont Aigoual which is the region’s highest peak at 1,567 metres. The itineraries vary between 100 and 160km; the shortest version has a slope of 1,546m.

Organised cycling tours

With Cédric, the campsite proposes guided cycling tours two or three times per week in the high season. They always take place in the morning so you can explore the region and enjoy the campsite for the rest of the day. With Cédric, discover superb panoramas, watering spots at village fountains, and the Cévennes rich and varied landscape. We don’t have assistance vehicles yet. Each cyclists climbs at their own pace, and the group stops at the top of each summit to reassemble and head off together. There is no stopwatch, nor stage winners. Cédric can also recommend itineraries if you prefer to cycle alone or with your family. The campsite is a favourite haven for cyclists. Small groups assemble to ride together every day, but the idea is to cycle and have a great family holiday in the Cévennes. Groups of cyclists are welcome in the low season, either in the holiday cottages or on the pitches with tents, caravans or campers. Cédric can help you organise your itineraries and even accompany you.
